Raised in West Wales, endured many car trips listening to the Carpenters during my childhood (a friend of mine picked up on this and agreed that there is still something cool about the Carpenters - discuss). Emptied pubs and clubs across the land, sometimes within minutes with a number of failed indie bands. In the last couple of years I got some studio equipment and have gone back to basic songwriting with a minimum number of instruments, trying not to disturb the neighbours. All my recent songs can be heard on www.soundclick.com/mrjellysgazebo, or for some reviews of my material, www.johnanthony.vox.com.
In August of this year a couple of my tracks were played on US internet radio for unsigned artists. The votes cast for my songs were made by me, my mum, and a couple of friends (one of whom didn't even listen to them).
Recently (September 2009 I've been featured on BBC 6 Music Introducing with Tom Robinson's weekend show. I owe that man a debt of gratitude for picking out Stori Caead to be on the playlist. This song will now be released for download on iTunes and many other online music stores on 11 October, the same day as Robbie Williams' new single. Oh the media frenzy as they go head to head........like Blur v Oasis 1995 all over again.
