Better Than Avalon is a five piece Rock band from Bristol formed in late 2006 by Guitarist/songwriter Nik Marden and Vocalist Rob Price. Early jam sessions included, Drummer Andrew Bushell, Bassist Jack Clark, vocalist Sam Ward and Guitarist Josh. While these early sessions were fruitful it was felt a change was needed and this led to the firing of guitarist Josh to be replaced by friend of the band James Hoskins. This line up continued to practice together, finally making there live debut in June of 2007 to great acclaim from the sold out audience. Several more gigs followed throughout the year but at the end of 2007 vocalist Sam Ward was fired from the Band for personal reasons to be replace by long time friend Kyle Cullen. The next few months saw the band take some time away from the live arena to completely renovate there songs, this lead to the recording of the bands first demo EP entitled 'Now is not the Time for Narcolepsy' and the return to the live arena with some very successful and well attended gigs in some of the south west’s most famous touring venues. This period also saw the recording of the bands second demo EP entitled 'Constant Climax'. Mere weeks after the recording of this album change once again struck the Better Than Avalon camp, first losing vocalist Kyle due to creative differences followed by vocalist Rob taking an indefinite hiatus to start a family. Not to be deterred we have now recruited the services of the renowned solo artist Anthony Steel to round out what we believe to be the strongest line up of the band to date. A new demo EP is set to be recorded in august accompanied by an extensive live schedule which we hope will take the band nationwide and build on our already growing success
