Hiya there
My name is Jonny P and I am an unsigned Dj from Kingston Upon Thames. I have been mixing for almost 9 years now, started way back in July 1999. First of all I was mixing Drum & Bass, most of my vinyl collection at the time consisted of : Ram Records, Fluid, True Playerz, Liftin' Spirit Records and Kartoonz. I still have some of the records to this day. Around about 2000 I started to indulge in other genres of dance music mostly Trance and Hard House, I've always had a soft spot for the more harder music genres I probaly could blame it on my Dad who was a Dj and had formed his own rock band when I was younger, but it was most probaly due to my love of Happy Hardcore. I was'nt a massive fan of the Trance music being played at various superclubs even though I will confess to owning a few vinyls on labels like: Manifesto, Slinky, Neo Records and Incentive aswell. I was drawn to more tougher Trance music which is classed as Hard Trance & Hard Dance, I am currently mixing: Dark/Tech-Step Drum & Bass and also Psytrance which sounds alot like the Mark - EG and M-zone style they were spinning back in 1998 to 2000. At the turn of the millennium upto this day I've also mixed Gabba, Hardstyle, Schranz and even Garage! I have friends who have Dj on pirate radio and I also have friends who are Dj's and Producers aswell. I've played out at house parties and had a couple of guest slots at nightclubs before but nothing regular, and I am willing to Dj for free because I really enjoy what I do and meeting crazy people is a great buzz for me! what I would really want to happen is manage to secure a resident slot at a nightclub or bar so I can be recognised for my style and technique. This is what I'm aiming to do in the near future: get together with a producer and put a few tracks together, secure a resident slot, set up my own club/bar night, always practice more, and generally play out and get my name recognised.
Hopefully this has given you an insight into my music history and what I plan to do, so if there are any Promoters out there who want to give me chance and need fresh talent please contact me and remember I'm willing to Dj for FREE!
Finally if there is any Dj's who want to swap mix cd's or just generally chat about music and mixing then please contact me aswell and I'll get back to you soon as possible!
Peace and Love
